There are few traditional islands with natural harbours and unspoilt beauty left in Greece. Kastos island, the small island between the eastern Mainland and Kalamos may just be the paradise island you're looking for. The island has only one village - Kastos, on the east coast of the island and lies parallel to the larger island of Kalamos. A deep channel separates Kastos from Kalamos. Kastos has a population of around 130 involved mainly in fishing. During the summer Kastians of the diaspora return and together with the fluctuating visitors arriving on yachts, help form a very special seasonal character. Its length is 7 km from north to south and its width is 800 m. The island's area is 5.901 km² and its highest point is 142 m.
